We seek a web developer who thrives on variety and understands code as both craft and art to join the rebel team at Monte. Our service level and responsiveness is borderline obsessive, yet we maintain normal business hours with very rare exceptions.
Utilizing a wide range of platforms and tools, we build primarily on Drupal, WordPress, and Shopify, but also develop novel methods where feasible. Our team is largely self-taught and self-motivated: we frequently reinvent ourselves with new approaches to our work and the market. At Monte it’s not just you and the code in isolation—it’s the colleagues, the clients, and the challenges.
With over 20 years operating from beautiful northern Michigan, we have clients across the US, with a bit of Canada and Europe, ranging from the Fortune 500 to small technology startups.
We need you to:
- Work with HTML, SCSS (and vanilla CSS), Javascript, PHP
- Maintain a solid understanding of the Drupal CMS - both front and backend.
- Display a basic grasp of modern 3-tier development workflows utilizing git
- Possess familiarity with *nix style CLI tools
We’d like you to:
- Have experience with WordPress and any other CMSes and/or CRMs
- Build eCommerce solutions, ideally with a few Shopify sites under your belt
- Optimize site performance
- Conduct SPA development with react, angular or other such framework
Compensation will include an hourly base, along with our company profit sharing program. We offer a flexible schedule and environment. Because we have team members local to our Houghton, Michigan office as well as sprinkled across the Midwest – your office is your choice. Regardless of location, we collaborate closely as a small team to create effective and beautiful online experiences.
