CUBES—the Center for the Utilization of Biological Engineering in Space—leverages partnerships between NASA, other federal agencies, industry, and academia to support biomanufacturing for deep space exploration (on Mars).
Director Adam Arkin is a Bioengineering Professor at the University of California, Berkeley and Senior Faculty Scientist at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory.
Logo: Before / After
The existing CUBES logo lacked a clear direction and didn't represent the biology aspect of their Center. The new logomark features mars and a leaf inside a filled cube as a way of highlighting CUBES mission of supporting biomanufacturing for deep space exploration. The angle of the mark, paired with the technology typeface, implies fast-paced space and research industries.
Custom Website Design
Graphic design that supports the brand identity: check. Deep colors with bold accents: check. Big, beautiful images that support the meaning of the content: check. The CUBES team asked for a 'wow' website, and that is exactly what Lauren delivered.
Team Technology
In addition to building an easy-to-edit website, we custom-programmed the Members section so they can be easily filtered by Role, Division, University, and Interests. Even better, you can click on any of the "areas of interest" tags to see all the team members sharing that interest.
Social Media Blog / Integration
Our clients asked, and we delivered: a blog with links to articles, videos, or photos that can be automatically posted to Facebook and Twitter—on a day and time of your choosing. For all you over-achievers, this means you can create enough blog posts for the month... quarter... year... (!) and then schedule them to appear over time. Can you say game changer?!
