Before

When Mason-Grey began 20 years ago, they started with a logo created by an online firm at a low, low price. As a new company, starting out, the value was in their work and not placed on the branding through a simple, type-based logo. The logo was missing what makes Mason-Grey unique.

After

After discussions with Mason-Grey, we wanted to create a logo that sold them and their story. Aligning with the industrial engineering work they do, we designed a logo that is clean and simple with steps that highlight the processes they follow. The new logo honors the clean, simplicity of the original mark, while launching the brand into the future.

Each of our logo designs begins with a meeting to discuss your company, products/services, audience, greatest strengths/selling points, and vision for the future. We review benchmark brands, your likes and dislikes, and even dig into the thought behind the design of your current logo (if you have one). We ask questions and let the conversation flow naturally until we feel we "have it"—the essence of where the new brand needs to take your company moving forward.

THEN the design work begins—100% from scratch, custom logos designed specifically for your company. We don't strive for a certain number of concepts, but rather explore many different approaches before assessing them all and assembling the strongest options for your review. In most cases, 20-50 initial logo concepts make the cut (seen in the first two pages of the image).

We present these concepts to you in a meeting and explain our intentions behind each. You will express which concepts first jumped out at you, and in some cases will choose your favorite direction to refine. In other cases, we narrow down the options and send you a condensed set to share with your team and friends. Once the strongest direction has been identified, we explore design variations and refinements (page three of the image).

The logo has been refined and tweaked to perfection... now what? Color of course! In this case the client was only interested in a blue/gold color palette—but as you can see, there are still plenty of ways to incorporate color. The left page shows some of the variations (we created a couple more pages of options in addition to this) and the right side is the final color selections.

Once a logo has been finalized, it is equally important to carry the new design and color palette through the rest of your print and web media. We have acted as the "brand managers" for many of our clients, including Mason-Grey.

mason-grey website before

Website: Before

Built with a basic web page builder, the original site was lacking the stability and reliability that the Mason-Grey team brings to their projects. The site was difficult to edit and didn’t showcase the broad industries served by their qualified engineers working across the country.

Lauren set to work engineering solutions through the design process. Building in calls-to-action and highlighting industries served through eye-catching placement on the home page and through a new and carefully planned out menu structure.

The home page further highlights client and Mason-Grey engineering staff locations through an easy to understand map that aligns with the newly deployed branding. The row of logos build trust and provides a boon to your loyal clients. Win, win!

Integrating the Message

Each page of the site highlights the messaging platform developed by Matt and Ashley. Through discussions with the Mason-Grey team, we felt their commitment, dedication, and reliability was what helped them stand out from the rest. The platform: Dedicated to, Proven in, and Committed to was established to showcase the type of work the Mason-Grey team does, the challenges they tackle, and the support they offer.

System Monitor Video

Product Video

Looking to boost search beyond their landing page, Mason-Grey saw an opportunity to generate further interest through a video on YouTube. After shipping the Mason-Grey System Monitor to the MONTE team, Matt filmed the monitor in our studio and paired it with industry-related footage.

Ashley and Matt worked together to simplify the message and create an easy-to-follow voiceover script, which Matt then recorded and aligned with the video footage. We achieved our target length of 60 to 90 seconds—ensuring the viewer has enough time to learn about the system without being bogged down by too many details.

Ad Campaign with Landing Page

We also designed an ad campaign that lead to a landing page, where the video can be watched right in the webpage. The landing page prominently features an in-page form prompting visitors to request a quote.

Linkedin ads are designed to grab attention as your connections are scrolling through their newsfeed.

To design an effective Linkedin ad, you need to consider the mindset of the user. Why does someone visit Linkedin? To grow their network, stay up-to-date with their connections, stay informed on the latest in their industry, and perhaps learn a trick or two to improve their skills or business. What do all of these motivations have in common? They all offer value.

Upcoming Events

Do you have a series of events coming? Invite your network to join you with a clean and concise upcoming events ad design. Here the key information is highlighted in yellow, making it clear that there are not one, but three events. Lead with the date first—if they can't make it to the event, they don't care where it is being held.

single event ad

Single Event Ad Design

As your upcoming event approaches, a reminder ad should be posted. This single event ad design communicates the crucial details first and foremost, with an image texture adding additional context in the background. It is important that your Linkedin ads have a cohesive and on-brand design so your network immediately recognizes the ad as "belonging" to you.

New Product or Service Ad

Do you have a new product or service offering? Tell your network! Depending on the size or scale of your new product/service, you may want to create an entire ad campaign that utilizes Google remarketing ads, landing pages on your website, custom web forms, YouTube videos, and much more. While there are many ways to get the word out, don't forget that a well-designed Linkedin ad is well worth the investment.

Sharing News: Yay or Nay?

Before sharing news, consider if it is relevant to your audience. Why should they care? In this case, Mason-Grey was celebrating 19 years in business. We kept the ad design very simple and clear, and the caption paired with it was crucial in explaining the "value" to the audience—how the experience they gained and relationships they've fostered are a result of their loyal clients. The caption celebrated not just Mason-Grey's achievement, but encouraged their clients to share in their success.

We first started working with Monte in 2018 and they stepped up to the plate in late 2025 and early 2026 with our launch of Quincy Materials. The website, brochureware, and other launch materials have been a huge help in our commercial acceleration.
