There is something special about businesses that span the generations. Flowers by Sleeman is a fourth generation, family-run business located in Houghton. Our team had been working with Tony at Flowers by Sleeman for a few years when he decided to transition from the outdated website and transform his customer’s experience through fresh branding, fragrant photos, and a clean website showcasing everything they offer from the fresh floral arrangements to the house and greenhouse plants.
Rooted in Beauty
With a business solely focused on beauty, we thought it was important to showcase the perfection present when you walk in the door of their Houghton location. Matt went on-site to take photos of the family working together to prepare the greenhouse, the florists focused on fresh arrangements, and the commitment to quality on display. These photos were the inspiration that captured the beauty in our website design process.
Planting the Future
Once we had the photos and the brand, Lauren took the pieces to design a website that would continue to build on the Flowers by Sleeman brand and help expand their online business. The new website focuses on a clean, white design with fresh photos that help you get a feel for the business.
The sidebar menu provides easy and constant access to the Flower Shop, while the home page photos, which can be changed out regularly, offer customers the change to view a variety of flowers for any occasion.
The home page features four buttons that highlight unique aspects of the Flowers by Sleeman business, its ties to the Copper Country, and the family commitment to providing fresh floral arrangements and expansive vegetation zoned for the local region.
The blog is a new addition that will allow Flowers by Sleeman to cultivate their content and refresh their customers on their extensive services, including tuxedo rentals, wedding arrangements, prom boutonnieres and corsages, and the greenhouse activities.
Room for Growth
Our team’s primary focus in updating the website was to clean-up the Flower Shop portion of the business, giving customers the ability to easily see photos of the arrangements, while also highlighting the price and making it simple to select a category or occasion. The chosen design also incorporates a filter for price, so customers can see the arrangements in their selected price range.
